Windows Reseller Control Panel Tutorial

Following tutorial guides you through the steps needs to setup your customer website using your reseller control panel "Hosting Controller".

Step 1: Hosting Package Creation
As a reseller you need to create Web Hosting Packages to sell to your customers. To create a web hosting package, follow these steps:

1. On the hosting control panel click on the link called Hosting Plans on the left.
2. Click on the button called Add Plan and follow the on-screen instruction. You will find description of everything if you click on the Quick Help link present at the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Account Creation (also known as WebAdmin or site owner)
You will create the account of your customer in order to be able to sell him the hosting plan created in step 1.

1. On the hosting control panel click on the link called User Manager on the left.
2. Click on the button called Add User.
3. Give a User name and password to be used for FTP and also your email ID. Follow the on-screen instruction. You will find description of everything if you click on the Quick Help link present at the bottom of the page.
4. Click on the button Add WebAdmin.

Step 3: Website Creation
In this steps you will actually create the customer's website.

1. Click on the link called Domains on the left.
2. Click on the button called Add Site.
3. Type the name of your website for ex: mydomain.com.
4. Select the user from the drop down menu, that was created in account creation.
5. Type the password (mail password) for accessing emails via web interface and via mail client such as outlook express.
6. Click on Next button.
7. Select the plan that you wish to assign to this user, click on Next button.
8. Proceed towards mail creation by clicking on Next button.

Step 4: Uploading the website via FTP, access to Web based emails and website Control panel

FTP access

1. Use a suitable ftp client such as ftp voyager, cute ftp or ws ftp. You may refer to FTP Tutorial for detailed guide.
2. Use host name as given in your account welcome kit.
3. Login name and password: as given during account creation.
4. Your ftp root will show mydomain.com. Double clicking on this will display 4 directories name www, db, special and Log.
5. Directory www is for all your web pages, dB is for databases. Special and Log should not be used at all.

Mail Access

1. Visit the web mail interface at http://mail.domain.com where domain.com is your domain name.
2. Type user name as : username@mydomain.com and password : mail password given during website creation.
3. This account is the host administrator account using which you can create more mailboxes.
4. For accessing emails use Incoming mail server : mail.mydomain.com. Outgoing (SMTP) server can also be mail.mydomain.com or preferable use your ISPs outgoing server.

Control Panel Access

1. Visit the control panel login page at http://panel.hostnex.net and type login and password use used for account creation.
2. This will open a control panel with limited access which is for the website owner.

NOTE:

Trying to access any domain created by in this demo or accessing mail via outlook express will not be functional UNLESS your domain nameservers is changed to nameservers mentioned in your welcome kit.
